LEED – Let Us Help

Let CPP help you obtain LEED certification.

LEED is an internationally recognized Green Building Certification system. It provides third party verification that a building or community project was designed and built employing strategies aimed at improving performance across all sustainability design and life use metrics that matter: energy savings, water efficiency, CO2 emissions reductions, improved indoor environmental quality, and stewardship of resources and sensitivity to their impacts.

LEED points are awarded on a 100 point scale and credits are weighted to reflect their potential environmental impacts. To be awarded LEED certification, the project must be submitted to the United States Green Building Council (USGBC), only projects can be LEED certified not individual products.

LEED 2009 For New Construction and Major Renovations Project the following is an example of points awarded.

Below is how CPP products can help you earn Credits to help your project get LEED status.

SS Credit 3: Brownfield Redevelopment – 1 point
-Intent: To rehabilate damaged sited where development is complicated by environmental contamination and to reduce pressure on undeveloped land.

SS Credit 5.1: Site Development–Protect and Restore Habit – 1 point
-Intent: To conserve existing natural areas and restore damaged areas to provide habitat and promote biodiversity.

SS Credit 5.2: Site Development–Maximize Open Space – 1 point
-Intent: To promote biodiversity by providing a high ratio of open space to development footprint.

SS Credit 6.1: Stormwater Design–Quantity Control – 1 point
-Intent: To limit disruption of natural hydrology by reducing impervious cover, increasing on-site infiltration, reducing or eliminating pollution from stormwater runoff and eliminating contaminants.

SS Credit 6.2: Stormwater Design–Quality Control – 1 point
-Intent: To limit disruption and pollution of natural water flows by managing stormwater runoff.

MR Credit 4: Recycled Content – 2 points
-Intent: To increase demand for building products that incorporate recycled content materials, thereby reducing impacts resulting from extraction and processing of virgin materials.

MR Credit 5: Regional Materials – 2 points
-Intent: To increase demand for building materials and products extracted and manufactured within the region, thereby supporting the use of indigenous resources and reducing the environmental impacts resulting from transportation.
